Brunonia australis   Native Cornflower

Brunonia australis Brunonia australis

This perennial plant is found throughout Australia even in some of the more arid parts and is also known as the Blue Pincushion. In some reference books it may still be referred to as the only member of the Brunoniaceae family but is now one of the Goodeniaceae and so is related to plants like Lechenaultia and Goodenia. There are now also other members of the Brunonia genus now known such as Brunonia suffruticosa and other species not yet properly determined.
