Of all the plants I've seen in the UK, Europe and Australia this is the one I've found in all countries. It's not at all uncommon in the Mediterranean countries being found on roadside, fallow fields and waste ground just like an ordinary grass would be in the UK. In the UK it is less common preferring the warmer southern counties of England.
