Blysmus compressus   Flat Sedge R DD N

Blysmus compressus

A member of the sedge family found in basic boggy ground, this little plant is very easily overlooked. It doesn't have the male and female parts of most Carex sedges and has round stems, flat leaves with rough edges.

It has an eastern distribution and is mostly found in England. There is a little in eastern Wales, a little in southern Scotland and none in Ireland.
