Banksia prionotes Acorn Banksia Endemic
This is quite a common Banksia in this part of Western Australia and can grow to 10m in height. The striking flower was was at the top of the tree about 4 m tall and probably the last of the flowers which appear form February to August. Banksia prionotes is found as far north as Shark Bay down to Perth and then inland but not as far as the south coast
