Astragalus australis Southern Milk-vetch
Also sometimes known as Indian Milk-vetch (Astragalus aboriginum) in the States and Canada this name probably refers to the fact that the Cree and other tribes would use this arctic alpine plant as a vegetable according to Gillet et al (1999). The flowers are often white with barely discernible pink or purple markings and it can be much darker too. The length of the petioles and pedicels can vary. It produces inflated pods when the seed are ripe.
