Asphodelus fistulosus Hollow-leaved Asphodel
There are supposed to be two species of similar Asphodel growing here. One, A. tenuifolius, is an annual and the other A. fistulosus is a perennial. We looked at these growing in various sites and were unconvinced of the split which is present in some guides and lumped under A. fistulosus in others. This may be A. tenuifolius if it exists. A. aestivus which we only saw occasionally has very broad leaves and is a much taller, stouter plant.
