Anthemis rosea
Anthemis rosea is an annual plant found mostly in the eastern Mediterranean areas of Greece and south western Turkey. It prefers basic soils and is found in gravelly or rocky habitats mostly on limestone.
Like other members of the Anthemis genus it is an aromatic plant yielding various oils when crushed. These extracted oils, the commonest of which are the Terpenes Sabinene and Borneol, have been used in the perfume industry and as natural insect repellents. The species growing in south western Turkey is ssp carnea.
