Androsace obtusifolia Blunt-leaved Rock Jasmine
Usually forming cushions of white flowers but with pedicels (flower stalks) up to 10 cm in height, this small alpine plant grows from heights of 4,500 feet to 10,000 feet on acid soils. Androsace obtusifolia var aretioides forms clumps without stalks and so is desirable for rock gardens. It is found in the Alps, Balkan mountains, the Apennines in Italy and the Tatra mountains between Slovakia and Poland.
