Anacamptis pyramidalis   Pyramidal Orchid C DD N

Anacamptis pyramidalis Anacamptis pyramidalis

This orchid can be quite small as in these examples in the grassland at Spurn Point or have huge flowerheads three times the size of ones in the photograph here. It can by light or deep pink but you can usually see the pyramidal shape of the flower head which gives the orchid its name, from a distance.
