Allium paradoxum   Few-flowered Garlic I

Allium paradoxum bulbils Allium paradoxum flower Allium paradoxum whole

This introduction from The Caucasus mountains has been naturalised at this site for over twenty years to my knowledge. The many bulbils and papery flowers are typical. It is found here and there throughout the British Isles with the greatest frequency in Southern Scotland where I have seen it covering a roadside for half a mile or so.

This plant is not often seen in Ireland or Wales but has heavy concentrations in south east England and Scotland.
