Adiantum capillus-veneris Maidenhair Fern
I recognised this familiar fern immediately and assumed it was yet another introduction or "weed" as Australian botanists like to call them. It is actually native to both eastern and western Australia. It tends to grow in sheltered damp places which was where we found this collection. It is less common in western than eastern Australia but is found throughout north America, Europe, China and many other countries.
