Adenostyles alpina Alpine Plantain
The large, glabrous, kidney-shaped, toothed leaves are characteristic of this alpine perennial which in spite of its common name is not a Plantain (i.e. a member of the Plantaginaceae family) but a member of the Daisy family (Asteraceae). It prefers shady mountain places in southern Europe from heights of 1,000 feet to 4,000 feet.
