Acacia mooreana
While many Acacia species can be tall trees and others substantial shrubs, there are some which are quite small and easy to overlook. This is one of them. Acacia mooreana grows to a maximum height of 1 metre and these specimens were no more than half that height but with a marked tendency to grow laterally. The flowers which are pale yellow give an impression of white from a distance and so the plant doesn't strike you (as a beginner in looking at Western Australian flora) as being an Acacia until you get close.
Acacia mooreana grows typically in swampy areas around Albany and Walpole and then in the far south west corner form Margaret River southwards but nowhere north of this.
