On a very hot day we watched these butterflies cross our path in good numbers all the way up to the summit but they rarely settled for more than a second or two. Close to the summit of the mountain at 3,996 feet feet one did one settle for about 30 seconds. Not enough time to get very close but this rather poor telephoto shot gave some sort of record of an excellent day on this special mountain.
