Watsonia meriana var bulbillifera Bugle Lily Weed
Like many of the introductions (Weeds) in Western Australia this is an attractive garden plant which has escaped into the wild. At this site there were only one or two clumps but nearer Manjimup Airport there are hundreds lining the roadside verge. This isn't surprising considering the good numbers of bulbils (over 100), each capable of becoming and adult plant, which each flower stem produces. The corms are renewed annually so it is effectively perennial.
It is found commonly around Perth and the southern townships nearby, then dotted southwards and along the west and south coast nearly up to the Stirling Range.
