Vulpia fasciculata whole Vulpia fasciculata

This is a nationally rare grass according to Stace but locally common on these extensive dunes on Anglesey. It is quite a small grass but has long awns. On LHS there is one Phleum arenaria (Sand cat's-tail) in the middle/left of the photo.

Vulpia fasciculata is found on the Welsh coast, south and east coasts of England and the east coast of the Irish republic but only rarely on Scottish coasts.
