Ulmus glabra Wych Elm CC DD N
The ovate serrated leaf of Ulmus glabra is asymmetric at the base with one lobe of the leaf overlapping the petiole (leaf stem). It particularly favours limestone country but is found on most soils.
Ulmus glabra is found in good numbers in all parts of the British Isles and Ireland. It is less common in the far north west of Scotland, the outer islands and the west of Ireland.
