Stellaria alsine Bog Stitchwort CC DD N
This small Stitchwort is easily missed because it tend to grow in acidic wet soils and bogs. You tend to be looking carefully where to put your feet rather than thinking of stopping to look for flowers. It has a typical stitchwort look about it in both the petals and the leaves.
This plant used to be called Stellaria uliginosa and before that, when I started to botanise it was known as Stellaria alsine. So welcome back S. alsine courtesy of New Flora of the British Isles Edition 3 (2010) by Clive Stace.
