Solanum chenopodioides Tall Nightshade I
This South American introduction is an uncommon plant in the British Isles but on Guernsey where the climate is much milder all year round, there was quite a lot of it and it was well established too. The typical Solanum genus flowers produce a black berry like fruit a bit like Solanum nigrum (Black Nightshade).
Solanum chenopodioides is found in just a few places in southern mainland Britain around London for instance and in the Channel Islands. There is none to be found in Scotland or Ireland and only one site in Wales.
