Salix caprea ssp caprea Goat Willow CCC DD N
One of the commonest willows, this is also know as "Pussy Willow" because of the small furry looking flowers which appear before the leaves. The broad leaves, which have very few hairs above but which are hairy underneath, usually have a small point.
Apart from the far north of Scotland along the coast, this tree is found everywhere in British Isles and Ireland but it is not common on the outer Islands.
