Ruppia maritima   Beaked Tasselweed C DDD N

Ruppia maritima

This is not an uncommon plant but unless you have already fished for aquatic plants, discovered it and identified it you won't necessarily see it in the water so it can be difficult to locate. It prefers brackish waters and the fruits (druplets) are slightly pear shaped.

It is recorded from areas around much of the coast of mainland Britain and Ireland.
