Ranunculus flammula Lesser Spearwort CCC DD N
At first glance this looks like any other medium sized buttercup until you look at the long narrow spear-shaped leaves which are quite unlike those of the common grassland buttercups R. acris (Meadow Buttercup), R repens (Creeping Buttercup) and R. bulbosus (Bulbous Butercup). It prefers waterlogged or boggy ground and is found throughout the British Isles and Ireland even on the outer islands such as Shetland and St Kilda.
