Puccinellia maritima   Common Saltmarsh-grass C DD N

Puccinellia maritima

Although this is quite a common grass its distribution is almost completely coastal as the name suggests. Should you find a specimen which looks like this inland then it is unlikely to be P. maritima unless close to a verge which has been very heavily salted.

Puccinellia maritima is found on almost every coastal stretch of the British Isles and Ireland and inland on some of the outer islands.
