Plantago alpina Alpine Plantain
This diminutive alpine plant has bright yellow anthers when fully out but we were too high too early for it to be in full flower. The small flower stems were often procumbent and often embedded in the fleshy leaves so quite easily missed unless kneeling down.
Plantago alpina grows in the Alps, Apennines and here in the Pyrenees up to heights of nearly 10,000 feet.
