Petrorhagia saxifraga   Tunicflower I

Petrorhagia saxifraga whole Petrorhagia saxifraga close

This pink which is quite similar but hairier than Petrorhagia prolifera (Proliferous Pink) is an introduction from Europe where it is quite a common wayside weed.

Petrorhagia saxifraga is found dotted here and there all over southern England with a few sites in Wales but there is no longer any to be found in Scotland or Ireland.
