Pedicularis palustris Marsh Lousewort
In the UK we only have to distinguish between Pedicularis sylvatica (Lousewort) which is low growing and Pedicularis palustris (Red rattle) which is much taller and darker. Here in Europe there are many Pedicularis species quite a few of which are purple/pink combinations making identification tricky. The two broad lips and the hairy calyx are typical of P. palustris but as is often the case, the flower colour looked a little different from British Isles plants.
