A member of the Loganiaceae family, until recently this species was named Logania serpyllifolia. There are two subspecies Orianthera serpyllifolia subsp angustifolia and Orianthera serpyllifolia subsp serpyllifolia. It is an inconspicious plant but quite common with records from just south of Perth, to much of the extreme south-west corner around Margaret River then along the south coast to Fitzgerald River National Park.
