Onobrychis viciifolia Sainfoin C DD N?
This was a good find on an expedition to photograph the Lizard Orchid which grows in good numbers on the Dyke. Frustratingly I have most often seen this plant as I zoomed past a verge in southern England where there was no parking so it's take a while to track down and photograph this plant.
I see this plant in Europe and had assumed it was a well established escape but Stace suggests it is possibly a native.
Onobrychis viciifolia is recorded most often in southern and central England although there are concentrations here and there in northern England and south Wales. It is uncommon in Scotland and rarely found in Ireland
