Noccaea rotundifolia Round-leaved Penny-cress
Previously used systematic names for this plant include Thlaspi rotundifolium, Iberis rotundifolia and Thlaspi cepaeifolium ssp. rotundifolium but fairly recently many Thlaspi species have been transferred to Noccaea although naming this genus is still controversial. The Plantlist for instance still gives the name as Thlaspi rotundifolium.
Noccaea rotundifolia is a slightly scented perennial plant which grows on basic rocks and screes and sends out rooting stolons which form new plants. It can be found in the mountains of Germany, Italy, France and Balkan countries from 5,000 to 10,000 feet
