Nicotiana x sanderae Garden Tobacco Plant DD I
This is garden escape is a hybrid between Nicotiana alta (Sweet Tobacco) and Nicotiana forgetiana (Red Tobacco). It isn't terribly common as an escape because it is usually a half hardy annual and so seeds don't often survive the winter.
N x sanderae has mostly escaped in the south east of England and elsewhere it is only occasionally recorded. It is not found in Scotland, and hardly at all in Wales and Ireland.
