Myricaria germanica Myricaria
Never having seen this shrub before I thought it was a funny looking Tamarisk but closer examination of the long flowers showed them to be nothing at all like Tamarisk flowers. This site in the gravel at the river's edge in the valley through Pontresina is typical of this species which can be found in Scandinavia as well as more southerly mountain regions like the Pyrenees and the Alps.
