Minuartia recurva Recurved Sandwort
We saw this plant at nearly 8,000 feet in the Dolomites near the Padon Refuge, which sounds like a bleak hut in the snow but actually you can buy a meal there. (We didn't). The linear, recurved leaves are what give his Sandwort it's name but other than that the flowers do look quite like the much commoner (in Uk) Minuartia verna (Spring Sandwort).
It is found in the mountains of southern Europe and south eastern Asia and more recently in Ireland. It was discovered in 1964 in West Cork and in 2001 in County Waterford.
