Mentha spicata Spear Mint DD I
This introduced plant is of garden origin and has naturalised itself succesfully throughout the British Isles although it is less common in the north of Scotland and Ireland. It is thought to be a fertile hybrid derived from Mentha longifolia (Horse Mint)and Mentha suaveolens (Round-leaved mint) . It doesn't have a consistent appearance and can be hairy or not for instance.
