Melittis melissophyllum Bastard Balm
With its nettle-like leaves and typical Labiate flowers, this plant reminded me of Galeopsis speciosa (Large-flowered Hemp-nettle) which I tend to find in disturbed arable ground in late summer after ploughing in Spring in Britain. The flowers on Melittis melissophyllum are not quite as colourful but are larger and because it tends to flower in shady places they stand out against dark backgrounds. It is found in many mountainous areas of Europe at heights of up to 4,500 feet.
