Malva neglecta Dwarf Mallow C DD N
This is a sprawling often prostrate plant with small pale flowers (only about half the size of the Common Mallow Malva silvestris) looking a bit like the much large Lavatera cretica (Smaller Tree-mallow) but with rounded or kidney shaped leaves.
M. neglecta is very common in England, particularly in the east but there are far fewer records for northern England and it is uncommon in Scotland except in some parts of the east. It tends to prefer the coastal areas of Wales and is uncommon in Ireland.
