Malva arborea Tree Mallow
The stands of this plant were over 1.5m tall and combined with the yellow Glebionis coronaria (Crown daisy) made a spectacular bank of flowers that would enhance any garden.
M. arborea which is native in southern Great Britain can be found in western Mediterranean coastal sites and in north west Africa.
Re-named following publication in 2010 of New Flora of the British Isles Edition 3 by Clive Stace where Lavatera has been places in Malva.
