Lathyrus pratensis   Meadow Vetchling CC DD N

Lathyrus pratensis whole Lathyrus pratensis close

This is another common pea plant and at first sight could be confused with Lotus corniculatus (Bird's-foot Trefoil). As the name suggest a trefoil has three leaves and this plant has two in the shape of Y. But most of all it is a climbing plant with tendrils which L corniculatus is not.

L. pratensis is common throughout the British Isles and Ireland.
