Lathyrus linifolius Bitter Vetch C DD N
Wood borders hedgerow and scrub is where Professor Stace finds Lathryus linifolius (Bitter Vetch) but I have also found it on bogs and in this case, growing out of a crack in a rock on the cliff face next to The Devil's Kitchen in Cwm Idwal. In the Hebrides and Northern Scotland the roots of Bitter Vetch were once used as a vegetable and were eaten raw.
