Lathyrus grandiflorus Two-flowered Everlasting-pea DD I
This Mediterranean climbing plant is sold in garden centres and nurseries as a hardy climbing perennial. However amongst its characteristics are toughness, persistence and an ability to spread. This means that unwanted plants are discarded and occasionally dumped into the countryside where they naturalise.
It has escaped throughout England, much of southern Scotland and north Wales. There is only a little naturalised in Ireland.
