Lathyrus cicera Red Vetchling
This small red pea also known as Flatpod Peavine and Red Pea, was dotted across the wet fields of hilly Gargano. Eating the seeds of this plant can cause a neurological disorder called lathyrism. Amongst other symptoms this can cause wasting of the gluteus maximus. In other words it makes your bum go smaller.
If L. cicera isn't an introduced species in the U.K. and the U.S.A. then perhaps it should be.
