Jasione montana Sheep's-bit C DD N
This is quite a common flower which brightens up many cliff top displays in early summer. It isn't very tall, only 20 cm maximum, but you tend to find many flowering plants all in one place so that the effect can be very pleasing.
J. montana has a distinctly western distribution being found often in Wales, Cornwall and south western Scotland. It is not found often in the north of Scotland and is uncommon in much of eastern England but is common in Ireland.
