Herniaria hirsuta Hairy Rupturewort
This is the kind of plant which can easily be overlooked in a florally rich area like the Pyrenees but while looking at various Saxifrage plants we found this small decumbent species on a flat rocky area nearby. The flowers are only a few millimetres in diameter so the large close-up is rather deceiving.
It is pale green compared with Herniaria cinerea with which it can be confused and has up to five stamens where H. cinerea has two.
