Gentiana brachyphylla Short-leaved Gentian
Superficially this Gentian looks very like Gentiana verna which is by far the commonest of the ordinary Gentians seen in and around the Pyrenees. The difference is that the leaves at the base of the flower are short and broad - quite unlike G. verna but identification is tricky when the base of the plant is hidden in the grass.
G. brachyphylla grows in the Alps and the Pyrenees.
