Euphorbia cyparissias Cypress Spurge C DD N
This is a native spurge in some parts of the country but elsewhere such as here in the North West of England it has usually escaped from gardens where it is a favourite Spring plant. The distinctive feature of this spurge is the smallness (not usually more 30 cm) of the plant with narrow linear leaves. It is topped with an umbel like inflorescence of yellow-green flowers.
E. cyparissias is scattered throughout England, Wales and Scotland with no single region except perhaps the south east (garden escapes??) having a high concentration of records. It is uncommon in Ireland.
