Eremophila are also known as Poverty Bush, Fuschia bush or Emu Bush because the Emu likes to eat the fruit. There are over 200 species many of which have several different colours of flower and this one appeared to be nearest in appearance to E. oppositifolia. They are both insect and bird pollinated with the brighter orange and even green flowers having a downward ponting flower to discourage insects.
