Dorycnium pentaphyllum whole Dorycnium pentaphyllum close

There were several shrubs covered with white pea flowers with a red keel at this site and most were at least 1m tall although most books insist that D. pentaphyllum is 80 cm maximum. It is sometimes used as a garden plant in the British isles and perhaps because it can grow in poor soil conditions has very occasionally escaped into the wild.
