Diplopeltis huegelii    Pepperflower Endemic

Although this can be a straggly looking shrub, the individual flowers are very beautiful. The characteristic I look for is that they appear to have a lower petal missing which of course, they haven't.

Diplopeltis huegelii has two subspecies recognised by Florabase: Diplopeltis huegelii subsp. lehamanii and Diplopeltis huegelii subsp. subintegra. Overall the Diplopeltis species can be found from Shark Bay to south of Mandurah on the coastal plain but not venturing very far inland.
