Found in both Europe and Asia, Daphne species are usually low growing deciduous or evergreen shrubs with coloured sepals which look like petals. Grown both for foliage and the scented flowers this hairless species is a favourite plant for the alpine or rockery gardener who also knows it as Fairy Garland Flower (Garland Flower usually refers to Daphne cneorum).
