Cochlearia pyrenaica ssp alpina Pyrenean Scurvygrass RR DD N
There is some doubt about the existence of this sub species which according to Stace might be the same as C. officinalis but this specimen growing straight out of the granite on the Coire had succulent leaves which are supposed to be a characteristic.
The ssp alpina sub species is the one which grows in the Cairngorms and other parts of Scotland only and the ssp pyrenaica can be found further south.
