Carduus carlinoides Pyrenean Thistle
Only growing in the Pyrenees, this thistle prefers stony ground and is characterised by very spiny leaves and stems. It can also have white flowers. We first found Carduus carlinoides in bud very high in the mountains but at slightly lower altitude it was in full flower.
